The Journeyman Pen from Wingback - Final Days on Kickstarter, and a New Winter Option! (Sponsor)

The Journeyman Pen from Wingback recently crossed the $100,000 mark during their Kickstarter campaign. And with only 4 days left, now is the time to jump on board.

The original Wingback Mechanical Pen was designed for everyone, a tool that had a minimalist aesthetic and was engineered to perfection. The Journeyman Pen is designed for you, by you. With every component of the pen able to be customized, you can make it the most unique addition to your stationery collection.

The Journeyman has some new features that Wingback customers have been after since the launch of our original Mechanical pen. The new barrel is longer, allowing for any standard international G2 ink cartridge, including gel ink cartridges. It also features a clip attached to the crown for better storage, and which stops the pen from rolling away from you. These features transform the pen into a travel companion that you are able to clip onto clothes or notebooks, to stay with you throughout your journey.

For the final week, Wingback has added the Winter Journeyman, which features a subtle geometric pattern laser engraved around the barrel. Available in Brass, Stainless Steel, Black Steel and Titanium, this reward will only be available to Kickstarter backers until the end of the campaign.

Whether you are choosing the classic Brass barrel, the beautifully engraved Winter Journeyman, or building your own using a variety of materials, Wingback has you covered - but not for much longer! The Journeyman campaign ends Friday, so head over and checkout all of the amazing options they have available.

My thanks to Wingback for sponsoring The Pen Addict this week.

The Journeyman Pen from Wingback, Now Live on Kickstarter! (Sponsor)

The new barrel is longer, allowing for any standard G2 ink cartridge, including gel ink cartridges. It also features a clip attached to the crown for better storage, and which stops the pen from rolling away from you. These features transform the pen into a travel companion that you are able to clip onto clothes or notebooks, to stay with you throughout your journey.

The Journeyman Pen features some of the hallmark elements from the original mechanical pen. Its reassuring weight encourages more time to be taken with every pen stroke. Our signature diamond knurling around the barrel and on the crown makes the pen easy to grip and our unique (and addictive) bolt action style twist mechanism secures the tip in place with an easy one-handed operation.

One of the original reasons for setting up Wingback was to bring users into the design process as much as possible, and create a bespoke product that will be treasured for perpetuity. For the first time ever, we’re delighted to bring customization down to a component level, so you can create something truly bespoke. You’ll be able to choose the metal for the barrel, crown and clip, allowing you to mix and match Brass, Stainless Steel and Black Steel. Titanium will be available only as a complete product. We’re also offering customized engraving of up to 35 characters along the length of the clip and on the Pen Rest.

The Journeyman Pen from Wingback is live on Kickstarter right now. It’s time to begin your journey.

My thanks to Wingback for sponsoring The Pen Addict this week.

Penedex, Your Digital Stationery Companion (Sponsor)

Our community is full of wonderful independent makers who turn acrylic rods into elegant, stunning fountain pens. Let me introduce a different kind of independent maker to the community, an app developer. Connor Rose is the independent iOS developer behind Penedex. Penedex was born out of his desire for a simple, elegant method of keeping track of his personal pen collection. From that idea grew a full-featured organizer and usage tracker for all kinds of pen addicts, whether you’re a student with a few pens in your bag, you have mountains of ink bottles in your closet, or if you’re a pen show fanatic. No matter who you are, Penedex can be your personal database for all things pens, inks, and pen shows.

Penedex is your digital stationery companion where you can catalog your pen and ink collection, stay on top of your currently inked pens, and prepare for a pen show visit. You can add details to your pen and ink entries, such as nib type, pen material, ink color, shimmer, dry time, photos, and more. Penedex will also keep track of how often you use your items and display a range of statistics about your usage. You can also add pens and inks to a wishlist to save for later, like when attending a pen show.

New for 2024 is Penedex’s latest feature, the pen show organizer. If you’re visiting the St. Louis or Birmingham Pen Show this week it’s a great opportunity to give it a try. Each pen show in the calendar has its own detail page with important information and a section to prepare for your visit. Add important events to a checklist so you don’t miss meet ups. Plan out a budget with Penedex’s budget tracker by setting a total budget amount and add items to your checklist. Penedex will do the math to make sure your pen show haul won’t blow your budget.

So whether you’re visiting St. Louis or Birmingham this week or another show later this year, let Penedex help keep you on time and on budget! Check out Penedex for iOS, or on the iOS App Store by searching Penedex. Penedex is free to download.

If you want to say hi you can find Penedex on Instagram and Threads @penedexapp or you can find the maker Connor Rose @clrosey.

My thanks to Penedex for sponsoring The Pen Addict this week.
